How to move a contact from one organization to another existing one

There are two scenarios if you wish to move a contact from their current organization to another organization which already exists in your account:

  • Where there are multiple contacts in the organization.
  • Where there is only one contact in the organization.

Where there are multiple contacts in the organization

  1. Open your contact and select Edit (see A). 

  2. Enter the Organization name you wish to move this contact to (see B).

    • If this organization already exists, it will appear as a drop down below the Organization field (see C).
    • The radio button Move this contact to new or existing organization? will be automatically selected (see D).

  3. Select Save to move the contact to this existing organization.

NOTES
  • When there is more than one contact in an organization, entering a different organization name (see B) gives you two options:
    • Change the name of this organization for all contacts?
    • Move this contact to a new or existing organization?

Where there is only one contact in the organization

  1. Open your contact and select Edit (see A). 
  2. Enter the Organization name you wish to move this contact to (see B).
    • The orange message box will alert you to the fact that once this contact is moved, the previous company will be lost since this is the last contact in it (see C).
  3. Select Save to move the contact.
