Prepare a CSV merge import file
The Merge Import feature helps you update multiple fields for existing CRM contacts in bulk.
Export the contacts you want to update. The file will include the Contact ID, which is needed to match updates correctly.
Use:
Only Keep the contacts and fields you want to update and remove everything else.
💡 You must keep the Contact ID column
Enter a new value and select Overwrite to replace the existing data.
Enter a new value and use Append to add it to existing data.
Leave any fields you don’t want to change as they are. This is useful when you’re only updating some details, not everything.
Merge rules by field types:
| Field type | Example | Merge Options |
|
Single line Dropdown Anniversary date Number Date |
First name, Last name, Job title, Status label, Lead source, Custom fields |
Overwrite Don't Overwrite |
| Field type | Example | Merge Options |
|
Collection Multi-line Checkbox |
Emails, Phones, Web, Tags, Addresses, Background, Custom fields |
Overwrite Append Don't Overwrite |
Replaces the existing address with the values in your file. To keep any parts of the current address, leave those fields unchanged in your CSV. If you remove values and overwrite, those fields will be cleared.
Adds a second address without changing the first. If a contact already has two addresses, no changes will be made.
To update organization-related information, make sure the CSV matches the existing Organization name in OnePageCRM so the system can correctly map and update the record.
💡 The Organization name can’t be changed during a merge import.
Take a moment to review your file and changes before completing the import.
💡 Merge imports cannot be undone, so review carefully before proceeding.
💡 To import special characters (á, è, õ, ü, ć), save your file with Unicode UTF-8 encoding.
💡 If you get Invalid file separator errors, remove trailing commas and use commas (not semicolons). Use Excel’s Find & Replace to fix this.
