How email open tracking works

Email open tracking is available on the Business and Max plans. Upgrade here.


Email open tracking shows when your emails are opened and how often, so you can follow up at the right time.

Enable email open tracking

To enable Email open tracking, first connect your email client to OnePageCRM.

Go to Email.

In the Email Configuration tab, scroll down to Allow open tracking and turn it on.

💡 Email Tracking can still be turned off before sending emails.

💡 If you contact customers in the EU, make sure your use of email tracking complies with GDPR.

💡 Email tracking uses a pixel to detect opens. It only records if an email was opened, nothing else.



Disable email open tracking for all emails

Go to Email.

In the Email Configuration tab, scroll down to Allow open tracking and turn it off.

💡 Email Tracking can be turned off before sending each email.



Enable/Disable email open tracking for individual emails

To enable or disable email open tracking, click Tracking at the bottom of the email editor, then toggle Track email.

Using email open tracking

When email tracking is enabled, you can see:

  • If an email was opened
  • How many times it was opened
  • When it was opened

Track your email opens in two places:

Email Page

Go to the Email Page → click Open tracking in the left-hand menu.

This folder shows emails by most recent opens, helping you focus on engaged leads.

Contact Page

Open a contact → scroll down to the Contact Activity Timeline → click the Email tab → hover over the timestamp to see opens.

If the email hasn’t been opened or tracking is off, you’ll see a crossed-out eye icon

💡 If email open tracking is off in Email Configuration, you can’t turn it on for individual emails.

💡 Emails sent from your own email client aren’t tracked.

💡 Only the 10 most recent opens are shown; additional opens appear as “opened more than 10 times.

💡 If you downgrade to the Professional plan, new emails won’t be tracked, but existing data stays visible.



Enable/Disable email tracking notifications

When sending an email, you can enable open tracking notifications at the bottom of the email editor. Click Tracking to open the dropdown, then select the options you want.

You can choose from the following:

Opened Once an email has been opened, you will get a notification via email.
Not opened in 36 hours If unopened for 36 hours, you will be notified.
Opened many times If opened 6 times, you will be notified.
Re-opened after a long time If opened 6 months later, you will be notified.
