How email open tracking works
Email open tracking allows you to see when your prospects open your emails and how many times, so you can strike while the iron is hot!
OnePageCRM uses a tracking pixel on outgoing emails to determine if the email has been opened by the recipient.
The email open tracking feature only collects information relating to whether a contact has opened the email. No other data will be collected from the recipients’ browsers or devices.
If you’re selling your products and services to customers based in the EU, you must ensure that you are fully compliant with the GDPR regulation regarding email tracking. This may involve getting their permission before sending emails or tracking email opens.
We recommend educating your team on when it’s acceptable to track email opens and when it is not.
Email open tracking is available on the Business plan.

Using email open tracking
Jump up to Article's Overview ⮝When email tracking is enabled in your account, any email you send from your OnePageCRM account will be tracked. Email tracking will monitor and report on:
- Whether the email has been opened
- How many times has the email been opened
- The date and time the email was opened
When you send an email to your contact, you can see if they have opened the email from two places:
Email Page
The Email page contains the Open tracking folder that will organize your emails in order of the latest emails opened, allowing you to focus on the most engaged leads. Go to the Email Page → in the side menu on the left-hand side, click on Open tracking.
Contact Page
Open a contact → scroll down to the Contact Activity Timeline → click on the Email tab.
If the email has not been opened yet or the tracking has been disabled, the icon will appear as an eye that has been crossed over.
Notes:
- When email open tracking is disabled on the Email Configuration page, you won't be able to enable tracking for individual emails.
- Emails sent from your email client will not be tracked.
- The 10 most recent opens will be displayed; more than that will show as "opened more than 10 times".
- If you downgrade from Business plan to Professional plan, new emails won't be tracked, but historical data remains visible.
