Mailchimp
Mailchimp is a mass email marketing and automation tool. Integrate your Mailchimp and OnePageCRM accounts to keep contacts up to date. The Mailchimp integration also allows you to easily create segments and track your campaigns.
Please note:
- You will need a Mailchimp account to connect it to OnePageCRM.
- Only Account Owner or Administrators can configure and manage the integration.

Create an audience in Mailchimp
Select your Mailchimp audience
Once you created your Audience go back to OnePageCRM → Mailchimp integration page.
Under the Configuration tab step 3 → Select your Mailchimp Audience from the dropdown → click Refresh.
Select fields to synchronize
The data fields you select here will be synced together with the OnePageCRM contacts to your Mailchimp account to work with them further.
You can choose 20 fields from the following:
- Email Address (required and always selected)
- Status label (required and always selected)
- First name (recommended)
- Last name (recommended)
- Lead source (recommended)
- Tags (recommended)
- Job title
- Organization
- Owner
- Phone number
- Address
- Contact Custom fields
Note: Only select the necessary fields to keep the sync time efficient.
Note:
In Mailchimp, you have the option to mark contact fields as required for a contact to be added to this Audience. Contacts in OnePageCRM that do not meet these mandatory field requirements will not be transferred to Mailchimp.
It is important to verify this setting in your Mailchimp account to guarantee the synchronization of your contacts.
Configure the Mailchimp synchronization
To configure the sync select your preferences under step 5. → click Save & Sync.
Select contacts to be pushed to Mailchimp: All contacts or contacts that match a previously saved filter.
Set a suitable time to push contacts to Mailchimp.
Select the checkbox if you want to Automatically push new contacts at the sync time every day.
You can delete or keep contacts in Mailchimp if you delete them in OnePageCRM or if they no longer match the saved filter criteria. Select from the dropdown: Contacts deleted from OnePageCRM XX in Mailchimp at daily sync:- 'will be deleted'
- 'will not be deleted'
- By selecting the checkbox Tag contacts rejected by Mailchimp during the sync process, the contacts not synced with Mailchimp will receive a tag in OnePageCRM, to let you know the reason. Learn more about Mailchimp sync errors below in Mailchimp Error tags.
To finish the configuration of the Mailchimp integration click Save & Sync.
Notes:
- During the sync process with Mailchimp, the following rules are applied:
- Only contacts with an email address are pushed to Mailchimp (Mailchimp will not accept contacts without email addresses).
- If you edit a contact's details, these updated details will be pushed at the set sync time.
- All Address fields (Address, City, State, Zip/Postcode, Country) must be completed for the Address to be pushed over to Mailchimp. If only some of the Address fields are complete, then no Address information will be pushed to Mailchimp.
- Filters: If you have selected to push contacts within a filter - if you delete contacts from OnePageCRM or change the filter conditions - then these contacts will be deleted from Mailchimp at the sync time.

Check the Status of your Mailchimp Integration
Notes:
- If there is an error detected at the sync time, the Error logs will display the problem email address and the error which is associated with it.
- Error logs will show you any error during the last sync time.
- The error log "Member Exists (400), "email address of contact" is already a list member" will appear for any contact included in the sync, that has already been pushed to your connected Mailchimp Audience.
Mailchimp Sync Errors tags
In the case of an error, OnePageCRM automatically applies one of the following tags to the contacts who are affected:
MC Invalid email: The email address of the contact is not correct. It may contain special characters like ‘ , ; space etc. It also includes all well-known temporary email services like yopmail.com or sharklasers.com.
MC Incomplete data: If a field is marked as "Required" in Mailchimp and this field is blank in OnePageCRM - this contact will not be pushed. For example, if the Company is a required field in Mailchimp, but the organization field in OnePageCRM is blank, then the contact will not be pushed.
MC Duplicate: At least two contacts pushed to Mailchimp have the same email address.
MC Cleaned: Some email addresses are automatically "cleaned" by Mailchimp. A "cleaned" contact is referred to as a non-deliverable email address. Hard bounces, as well as repeated soft bounces, become cleaned addresses - see Mailchimp's help article. Cleaned contacts are ignored when are included in a campaign audience.
MC Unsubscribed: A Contact manually unsubscribed in Mailchimp or via an Unsubscribe link from the campaign email.
MC Sync error: Any other sync errors other than the above. For example; The domain of an email address of the contacts cannot be verified at the time of sync etc.
MC Not Subscribed: The contact has not opted in to receive email marketing campaigns, from your brand.
- MC Archived: The contact has been archived within your Mailchimp Account and will not be included in future segments or email campaigns.
Note:
- The sync errors listed above will only appear to a contact who is actively subscribed to your Mailchimp email audience. Otherwise, they will be assigned the "MC Unsubscribed" tag in OnePageCRM.
