Advanced Filters
Advanced Filters let you combine multiple search conditions and Saved Filters to find the contacts you need.
Choose your search criteria, then decide whether to:
- Include contacts from a saved Filter.
- Exclude contacts from a saved Filter.
- In common – Show only contacts that match both your search criteria and the saved Filter.

Choose a saved Filter
A saved Filter is a segment of your contact database.
If you want to build an Advanced Filter using several groups, start by choosing the first segment (filter) you want to use.
💡 Add a Filter name to save the filter. The character limit is 255.
💡 Multiple saved Filters can be combined together.
💡 Include a saved Filter inside another saved Filter to create multiple levels of the Advanced Filter.
💡 Advanced Filters can also be used in the Pipeline. See here.
💡 Advanced Filters used on a large number of contacts can take a while to run.
Include contact segments via saved Filters
Jump up to Article's Overview ⮝Choose Include to add contacts from a saved Filter to your new search criteria. If a contact matches either filter, it will appear in the results.
👉 For example: If your search includes contacts in Ireland and contacts with the Lead Source Affiliate, you’ll see all contacts that match either condition, without duplicates.
Exclude contact segments via saved Filters
Jump up to Article's Overview ⮝Choose Exclude from the dropdown to remove contacts that match a saved Filter from your search results.
👉 For example: If your search includes contacts in Ireland and excludes contacts with the Lead Source Affiliate, you’ll see contacts in Ireland who are not Affiliates.
Find overlap in contact segments with saved Filters
Jump up to Article's Overview ⮝Choose In common to show only contacts that match both your search criteria and the saved Filter.
👉 For example: If your search includes contacts in Ireland and the saved Filter includes contacts with the Lead Source Affiliate, you’ll see only contacts in Ireland who are also Affiliates.
