The Action Stream
It's hard to ignore what's right in front of your eyes so we created the Action Stream to help you keep track of your actions so you can hit your targets. Your Action Stream is where all your Next Actions are dynamically displayed and ready for you to complete. This way you will never lose sight of your targets!
The Action Stream works hand in hand with the Next Action sales methodology that has been exclusively developed by OnePageCRM and is inspired by the GTD principles (Getting Things Done by David Allen). Learn here about the different types of sales actions and how to use each of them.

What is the Action Stream?
The Action Stream "a.k.a" your to-do list, is the first thing you'll see when logging into the CRM. It holds your contacts and Next Actions assigned to you by urgency as follows:
- ASAP (red flag)
- Overdue Actions (red flag)
- Today's Actions (orange flag)
- Future Actions (grey flag)
- Waiting for Actions (blue flag)
Once you complete a Next Action and set a new one in the future this contact slides down the list and will gradually come up on nearing the due date. On the day when the action is due, it will stay on top and turn red until completed. Your contacts will flow in a continuous loop with a bullet-proof follow-up system until a sale is achieved.
Notes:
- If you have multiple priority actions (Overdue, ASAP, and Today) for a contact, they will all be displayed in your Action Stream.
- Filter your Action Stream, by using the Focus Mode.
Note: You can view your Teams Actions, by selecting their User name from the Team Stream dropdown in the left-hand-side menu.
The Action Stream also gives you a quick overview of your contact. It displays:

Benefits of the Action Stream
The Action Stream works hand in hand with the Next Action sales methodology that has been exclusively developed for OnePageCRM and is inspired by a GTD technique (Getting Things Done by David Allen). Same way GTD increases productivity and improves time management, when the Next Action is applied to sales it's a powerful tool to make you focus exclusively on sales. Using Next Actions encourages upfront decision-making. Applying Next Actions to your leads and customers ensures that you will never miss any opportunity to sell.

Change the Next Action date and time directly from your Action Stream
Navigate to the Action Stream → click on the Next Action date flag.
In the Date Picker pop-up window, select a date from the calendar, use one of the Quick Dates, or choose from the options below:
- ASAP
- Waiting for
- Today
- Tomorrow
- Next Week
- Last selected
Note: You can configure the Quick Dates to suit your preference.
Drag and drop actions in my Action Stream
If you have several Next Actions due on the same day and want to prioritize one above the others; you can quickly select this action and drag it to the top of your list.
E.g. a contact who needs to be prioritized can be quickly moved to the top of your Action Stream. On the contrary, a contact who is at the top of your Action Stream but not available to speak at the moment; can be quickly moved down the list without updating their Next Action text.
This allows you to focus on your highest-potential or most urgent contacts first.
Note: To target specific actions in your Action Stream we also suggest using the Focus mode.
Action Stream features
Focus mode
The Focus mode allows you to customize your Action Stream so you can stay focused on the tasks at hand for any given day.
To enable and customize click on the Focus Mode icon at the top right-hand side of your Action Stream Page. This will open the dropdown menu.
Notes:
- The green dot on the Focus Mode icon indicates that the Focus Mode is enabled.
- The Focus Mode will only customize your own Action Stream.
- The Focus Mode is a direct replacement of the upcoming Action Stream list.
Select from the following options and click on Apply:
- Hide contacts with a Closed sales cycle - Turned on by default
Easily hide contacts with a closed sales cycle in order to focus on open opportunities.
- Hide contacts without a Next Action (Recommended On)

Notes:
- This setting will be automatically disabled after midnight.
- When the "Apply a saved filter" is enabled, the other options are disabled automatically and cannot be enabled additionally.
Toggle Split Pane
OnePageCRM has two different views for viewing your Action Stream and Contacts. You can choose to "Toggle Split Pane" if you'd like to keep your Action Stream insight whilst quickly working your way through qualifying your leads. The choice is yours.
To change your view of the Action Stream and/or Contacts page, toggle Split Pane at the top of your page to the right of the Search box.
Your Action Stream/Contacts page will move to the left side of the page and the contact will open on the right side of the page.
Notes:
- Split Pane is not shown when the Action Stream or Contacts page is opened in a smaller window (less than 1227 pixels).
- Split Pane may not be shown if you have zoomed in too much on your screen. Best to use it at 100% resolution or higher.
Action Stream Calendar
We know that you have a lot of Next Actions throughout the week, and you may need more than a linear sequence of Next Actions to help you "feel the workload" per day, so the Calendar will allow you to look at your Next Actions in a calendar grid view. This way, you can easily see which Next Actions are landing on a weekend or which are landing all on the same day. You can then drag and drop Next Actions cards to spread the workload more evenly or move Next Actions to working days.
Open and use the Calendar in your Action Stream
The Next Action cards are color-coded as follows:
Select Today to refrech Today's Next Actions.
Note: If you have a lot of Next Actions due in one day, you can click on the blue action link on top of the date box to view all Next Actions and move the Next Actions in the pop-up by dragging and dropping them around the Calendar.
Notes:
- You can move Next Actions under ASAP and Waiting for to a date in the Calendar, and vice versa.
- Next Actions with time will be displayed at the top in ascending order. All other Next Actions will be sorted alphabetically.
- The Calendar pop-up is designed to help you sort and view your Next Actions in a different view other than the Action Stream. To complete a Next Action or open a contact close the Calendar pop-up to work on the Action Stream and contacts.
- You cannot run a filter or use Focus Mode with the Action Stream Calendar.
Configure your Action Stream Calendar
The Action Stream Calendar can be configured based on your preferences.
Change the Action Stream Calendar view by selecting the gear icon. You can select:
- The number of weeks displayed on the grid view. Select an option under View:
- 2 weeks
- 3 weeks
- 4 weeks
- Change the size of the Next Action cards. Select an option under Density:
- Comfortable - Will show you the name of the contact and the Next Action text.
- Compact - Will show you the name of the contact only.
Note: On the Localization page, you can select the day your calendar week starts.
